A Photo Scare

This morning my computer and my picture card reader freaked out on me and I thought I lost all the pictures from the weekend (blessing and everything). It was so not cool. I was wigging out (to say the least). Thankfully we were able to recover the pictures and this is one of them. This picture shows Johnathan hitting a long drive down the middle of the field. He had a great game. His team was playing Kenneth's team and they both had a great game. They both got three really good hits and we were very proud of them.
I forgot to mention that my sister Elise had her baby this past weekend. She had a boy and she named him Jacob Darrell Adams. She had him completely naturally (no drugs) yea Elise!! I am so impressed. They are home now and doing well. I can't wait to see his cute little face.
Have a good day!

May 7, 2007

I was going to post pictures from this weekend but I can't get them off the card. Darrel thinks that it is a problem with my cord or my camera but not the computer. He says that he'll look at is when he comes home. I am just not very knowledgeable when it comes to this kind of stuff. I am fairly computer literate but not when it comes to cords and cards etc. Oh well, it's a good thing that I married someone who is knowledgeable in that respect.

This last weekend was fun. We went from really warm weather in Las Vegas to really cold weather in Utah and we just weren't prepared. It rained and even snowed in some places this weekend. We all still had a great time though. My boys had a chance to swim in Grammie and Grandaddy's hot tub and Alex and Johnathan went golfing with Ben and Darrel. Joy, Amanda, and I went shopping for Danny's birthday and then picked up a Mother's Day gift for my mom.

We also spent some time cleaning my mom's basement. It was a mess, but it's clean now. I was glad that we were able to help her. It would have been a very daunting task for one or even two people. Our family and Joy's family both helped and with mom and Ben we were able to bang it out in just under an hour and a half. The end result was very impressive and mom was extremely happy.

Today Johnathan's baseball team is playing Kenneth's baseball team. It should be a very fun game and one that we have looked forward to for the entire season. I will take lots of pictures, and hopefully with help from my dear husband I will be able to post them quickly.

Joy took time away from her busy day today (and on a day that it was my responsibility to watch her kids) to help me secure some tickets to the Scintas show on Thursday. I am going with a friend of ours and I am looking forward to the evening. The Scintas have been playing Vegas for some years now and the show is going dark after this weekend so it will be a good opportunity to see some Vegas legends before they are gone. I appreciated Joy's willingness to help me out...thanks Joy! I'll owe her some work time later this week.

Tomorrow we're talking about picnics and the beach in preschool. We're going to make a beach book and a beach visor. We are also going to have a picnic snack time. It should be fun. Preschool is almost over for me. I am having preschool graduation on the 31st of this month. This is bittersweet for me. It will be nice to have my mornings back and not have to clean every day, however, I will really miss the kids. I have grown to love them through the year and it will be hard for me not to see them every Tuesday and Thursday. We have a good time together and it's hard to give that up.

Well, now that I've rambled on and on I guess it's time for me to go plug back into my children's lives. Whoever is reading this, thanks for reading all the way through to the end. Have a wonderful day!

Almost 12 years...

That's how long Darrel and I have been married. On the fifth of May it will be twelve years for us. This picture was taken of Papa and Grannie a short while before they both passed away. I love this picture. When Darrel and I have been married as long as them (over 75 years) I want us still to be holding hands like Papa and Grannie. What a wonderful tribute of love and devotion they showed to their families throughout the years. I have been so blessed these last twelve years. Darrel is the most wonderful husband a girl could ever ask for. He is an angel man and I feel so lucky to have him as my sweetheart. Happy Anniversary to us!!

BBQ/Pool Party

We went to a BBQ and pool party at some friends on Saturday night. We had a great time and we appreciated the chance to cool down in such hot weather. Johnathan was enjoying the water slide.
Alex liked jumping off the waterfall and playing war with the water toys.
Zachary greaty enjoyed the shallow end where he stayed the entire time. It was a beautiful night and we felt very blessed.

friends

This first picture is Zachary and Caitlin dancing together. Zachary had put on one of the dress up preschool dresses and he wanted to dance. Caitlin wants to do whatever anyone else is doing so she began to dance also. They were so cute together dancing.
This is a picture that I took a couple of months ago at a park we went to for playgroup. Daniel and Zachary were having a great time climbing up on this concrete and then sliding down. Zachary loves doing whatever Daniel does.
This final picture is Zachary and Caitlin having a conversation on the phone. Zach is using the preschool phone and Caitlin is using the preschool cash register but they were having this long conversation together. It was pretty cute.

It's fun for me to watch Zachary have friends. He loves Daniel and Caitlin. He loves having playmates.

A Week Full of Fun!

Thanks to a very generous sister and a loving husband I was able to go to Idaho this past week. It was sooooo much fun. I traveled up there with my mom and we had a great time. What a wonderful opportunity I had to spend some one on one time with my mom. We got pedicures and massages. (It was my mom's first massage ever, it was my second) I think I hooked her on massages for life. She loved it. I was also able to see friends and attend the Idaho State Convention while I was there. Mom was the keynote speaker and she did an awesome job. Everyone was so impressed. It was so fun for me to be able to catch up with friends - I loved being there and was very sad to leave. Darrel and I made some wonderful memories in Idaho and it was bittersweet to go back and visit. Hopefully in the next year or so we'll be able to take our whole family up to visit friends.

I know I promised pictures, but I didn't end up taking any while I was there. I'll just have to remember this trip in my mind. I'll post something else with pictures later.

Preparing to leave

I am getting ready to leave for Idaho. I'm nervous, I'm excited, and I'm worried for Joy. I just cannot express to her how much she means to me. I love her so much. I love her strength and her "go to" attitude. She is watching my children this week while I am gone. She is such an angel. She acts like it's no big deal even though I know it is. She will have Zachary from Tuesday morning until Friday night, every day until Darrel gets home from work. She'll have both my other boys from the time school is out until Darrel gets home. And then my sweet husband will be both the mom and the dad every night and throughout the weekend. I won't be home until Sunday night. I have such a wonderful and supportive family. I am so excited to go back up to Idaho and see so many of the friends I left behind. I will be attending the Idaho PTA State Convention. I know most people will roll their eyes, but I can't wait. I am so excited to see my friends and I get to spend the time with my mom also. She is meeting me up there and we are going to have a long, and fun week/weekend together. I don't even know the proper way to thank Joy and Darrel for letting me have this time. I feel so blessed and so loved. Joy - thank you, you're an angel in my life and I thank Heavenly Father every day for the opportunity we are having to live close and to share so much. You mean the world to me and I love you.

I hope to come back with lots of fun pictures to share. I need to find my smaller camera so I don't have to haul around my big, bulky one. I guess I better go get ready to go. I won't be posting until I get back so...I'll catch you on the flip side.

Johnathan's first baseball game

Johnathan had his first baseball game this last Monday night. He did an awesome job. He hit the ball both times (for base hits) - and even hit them on the first pitch. He was assigned as catcher for the first part of the game. As you can see in the first picture, we need to work on this part of his baseball skill set. He isn't wearing a uniform because his coach was late getting to the game and Johnathan missed the last practice where all the other team got their uniforms.

You can see his coach in this picture, he is in the background. Once Johnathan rounded the bases the first time he was able to put on his uniform and play the rest of the game looking like the rest of his team. He did an awesome job and we were so proud of him. Tomorrow he has a karate demonstration that we are hoping to get some nice pictures of - so look for those soon.

Gotta love kids

Last night Zachary came to bed with us. I should just know when he comes to bed to either expect not to get much sleep or move him back to his pronto. I didn't move him so guess who got a horrible night's sleep. Oh well, we can sleep when we're old right? Zachary has the "wonderful" habit of climbing into bed with us and then turning sideways and kicking or just rolling over so he's practically on top of me. I say me because I don't think he ever does this to Darrel. He is such a mama's boy and I guess that doesn't change even when he is sleeping.

Today, I have preschool (we are talking about seeds and rain). Then, Alex has a play at the school that I am very excited to go to. I will try to remember to grab my camera on my way out the door so I can take some cheesy play pictures. Tonight I have a scout day camp meeting at the stake center. I think that this has been one of my busiest days since we moved here. It's kind of nice to be able to put something in my calendar. Don't get me wrong, I'm hardly ever just not doing anything, it's just that I'm not usually required to put it into my calendar. Ah, the little things....

We really did have a great Easter weekend. I didn't post very much of what we did. Joy did a much better job on her blog about our weekend. Darin, Missy, Darrel and I got to go see Gordie Brown. He is an impressionist/singer at the Venetian. He was very good. After that we walked down the strip and saw the dancing water at the Bellagio and then went inside to see the atrium. It is constantly changing and it was all decked out for spring - very impressive. I really wished that I would have had my camera to take some pictures. I took some with my cell phone, but please, who is kidding who about cell phone pictures. I needed my good camera to take any decent ones. I'll have to go back later and take some fun pictures with my kids.

I guess I better get my day going. Have a good one!

Coloring eggs

We had a good time coloring eggs on Sunday afternoon - after Grammie and Grandaddy left. We needed something to do and the children remembered that we had promised them that they could color eggs. It actually turned out to be a very good time. I thought that I would share some fun pictures - because that's what I am good at. So here they are :0)

So much to share...

I had so many pictures to share that it was almost too overwhelming. Then when I went to load the pictures, I found out that I can only post 5 at a time. Then it was just hard to pick. Easter has come and gone and with it my parents, Missy, Darin, and her boys, and Danny, Amanda, and Diesel. We had a wonderful Easter weekend. We played and colored Easter eggs. Joy and Steve's boat was out two days in a row, non-stop. I think everyone who came had a good time and I'm sure that everyone left tired. I know that it's taking me some time to play catch up after this weekend. It was so fun to have everyone here. We had a blast! Also, last night Kenneth and Johnathan had their first baseball games of the season but we'll save those pictures for the next post. Enjoy the ones that I've posted above.

The baby is here and so are the cute pictures

Jaxon Gilbert Fellingham arrived Friday afternoon so I was able to take some pictures of him and his happy parents. We are all grateful for his safe and healthy arrival.

Leaving for the weekend

Joy and I are leaving for the weekend. We're taking Caitlin, and Zachary and we are heading up to Utah to see all who reside there, plus Elise and her family which will be there visiting. We are pretty excited. We are leaving our older children with their respective fathers and they will have a fun weekend playing and working together. Hopefully while I'm up in Utah I will have the opportunity to take some cute infant pictures of David's new baby, Jaxon. I'm excited...I've been looking at different poses on the internet and have a host of cute ideas for our little photo shoot. I hope that David and Jackie are good with allowing me this opportunity. Maybe I'll have some cuter than cute pictures to share when I get home. I'll leave you with one of Zach that I put together.

Black and White

Zachary loves the bath. Yesterday he came in very dirty so I put him in the bath. He climbed into the toy basket that was in the tub and he had a great time. I'm just sharing some cute photos.

Picture of cutie pie

What a cutie! You just have to love that face. I just thought I would share a picture to go along with the post I just posted. Enjoy!

he said "I love you"

A couple of days ago, Zachary said, " I love you Mom". Without any prompting or me saying it first, he just said it. I was so happy. This is a first for him and I just wanted to tell you. When your kids say something like that without any prompting it's always such a nice thing and he just melted my heart. What a kid!

It's been too long

I had a wonderful birthday! The Armstrongs were in town and we painted the town red. We finally got to see Celine and it was awesome! That girl has got some pipes, she can sing!!! Thanks Armstrongs! We had a great time and can't wait to see you again.

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated. It seems like I go in spurts with updating. I get all excited and have lots of things to say and then it seems that I run out of things to say and so I stop writing. I just need to remember that even if "exciting" things aren't happening to me I should still update because this blog functions as a very good journal for me.

So, today was preschool and we talked about pigs. I made the kids pink snouts and they looked so cute walking around oinking. Next week we're talking about the circus and the new food pyramid (found at www.mypyramid.gov). We're talking about these things on two different days (of course). I only have one more week of preschool and then I'm taking a week for spring break. The first week in April is spring break here and we're going to take off of preschool and I'm giving myself a little break. I'm going to take my boys to the park and we're going to find some fun things to do together.

The boys are enjoying their track break right now. They are in the enrichment classes that the school offers. Alex is doing Landscapes in Watercolor and Basketball; and Johnathan is enrolled in Reading with Technology and Abstract Art. They are both liking the fact that they don't have homework and Alex is taking a break from gymnastics and only going once a week for the three weeks that he is off school.

We took some pictures on my birthday weekend but I can't seem to locate the camera that we took them on. You'll have to wait unil I can locate the camera card off load them from that.

Hopefully I'll update again soon and you won't have to wait again for so long (not that very many people read this but again, it's good for journaling)

See ya!

I love March!!!

I worked on photoshop a lot today. Before Elise left to go home we got a couple of cute pictures of Emily and Caitlin together on Joy's film camera. Joy got the film developed and low and behold they are so cute but needed a new background. I fired up trusty photoshop and decided to spend my morning giving those cute girls a cute background.
I love March. I always have. I love that my birthday is in March. I love that it's spring. I just love March. It is my favorite month of the year. I am sitting here at my desk feeling the breeze from the open door and hearing Alex and Johnathan in the backyard laughing. My life couldn't get much better than this. Oh how blessed I am!!

I am so looking forward to the Armstrong family coming this weekend. We just can't wait. We are so excited to see them and then to finally see Celine Dion in concert. It's going to be an awesome birthday weekend.

I talked to an old friend today (Ashley if you're reading this I didn't just call you old). It was so nice to catch up on her life a little bit and let her catch up with me. I also had a nice chat with another friend. I have felt very loved today by my friends. I have just had one of those days where you count your blessings and thank heaven that you're alive and well to enjoy it. I have preschool tomorrow. We are going to talk about the wind and make pinwheels and tube kites. On thursday we are going to talk about shamrocks and St. Patrick's Day. What fun times!

Another day...another park

We love the park. Wednesday we went to playgroup at a new park and it was really fun. Zachary just loves going to all these new parks and most of the time I really like getting out of the house. It's in the mid 70's this week and just beautiful. I know that too soon it's going to get way to hot for me but for now I'll just enjoy this little bit of spring sunshine and count my blessings.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Monday Morning

Well, another week beginning. Nothing much out of the ordinary going on this week. Today I am watching Joy's kiddos so she can work and preparing for preschool tomorrow. We spent the weekend cleaning the house and getting it ready to sell. Yes, we're putting out house on the market in an attempt to pay off some of our debts. We can rent around here so much cheaper than we can own this house that it's silly not to make the move. We talked to our boys about it last night and they were fine with it. I don't think that they are going to like having to keep the house clean, however, we'll all chip in to get it done.

Also today it would be really nice to finally get all the way unpacked from our trip to Missy's house. That is one of my worst faults. I need to learn how to get things done in a more timely manner. Procrastination is going to get me in the end. I'll have to work on that...later. :0)

Zachary has already asked if he could go to Daniel's house this morning. I told him that Daniel was coming to our house and that he could go to Daniel's house tomorrow morning. That seemed to pacify him, although he still wants to go to Daniel's house (which actually makes me very happy). He is such a mama's boy that it's nice to find out he can exist in a world where I am not there 24/7. Zachary is going to turn 3 in 5 days and I can't believe it. I can't believe he is three already. Time is just racing by. We're trying to potty train him but he's decided to be stubborn and he refuses to use the potty. We even bribed him with Chuck E Cheese but his still won't go poop on the potty. It looks like it will be awhile until we see the inside of Chuck E Cheese again (sorry Joy). He has a stubborn streak a mile wide. I asked him to put away some toys yesterday and he said "no". I told him to pick them up or sit in time out. He said "time out" and he sat down. I couldn't believe it. So, he sat in time out and I still made him pick up the toys. He did not think that was very fair. Sometimes he can take me to the end of my rope. He does know how to flash that smile, though, and for him most of the time that's a good thing.

Oh well, enough about us today. It's time to get on with it. I'm just postponing the inevitable. Wish me luck!

try this one on for size

I stuck it in photoshop and tweaked the picture...what do you think??

Blue and Gold part 2

Well, at least it's done. No, it actually went really well. There was plenty of food and lots of fun. I think that everyone had a good time. I'm so glad we only have to do that once a year. Adding food into the mix makes a huge difference!! Next month's pack meeting is going to be very low key (as far as the other leader and I are concerned). Anyway, I was so busy that I never got a chance to take any good pictures. They were taking pictures of the boys "surfing" on an ironing board with a tarp behind them. Alex didn't get one taken but Johnathan did so I'm posting that picture to sum up our evening.

Blue and Gold

Tonight is the Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. I'm a little nervous about it because I'm in charge (with another lady) and I'm just hoping everything goes alright. I think that I am ready but I'm almost more nervous about the regular scout meeting award stuff. For some reason I think I may have forgotten some of what I will need. It's that nagging feeling in the back of your head that drives you crazy that I just can't shake. Oh well, worst comes to worst I'll fix my mistake for the next month's pack meeting.

I got another preschooler yesterday that is going to be with me for the remainder of the year. I'm excited to have a full class again. He seems like he will be a good addition to the class. I'm sure we'll have a good time and get along just fine.

I have to go and get some more stuff done, but I'm taking my camera tonight so maybe I'll have some good pictures of Blue and Gold to share with you all.

Alex's vault

This might be too small to see. But Darrel took some cool pictures of the kids vaulting at the last meet and I put Alex's all together so you could see kind of a time lapse photography thing of his vault. I hope you can see. If you want to see it bigger, just click the picture below and it will show it to you real size (it does make it a little blurrier.)
